Waste2Wear starts collaboration with textile power house Yaser & Mayasa

News, 10.11.2019

Waste2Wear is happy to announce an inspiring collaboration for the United Arab Emirates with the well-established textile power house, Yaser & Mayasa, whose main base is in Dubai.

A perfect match

As Mr. Yasser Albeer, Vice President and General Manager of Yaser & Mayasa is constantly researching global new developments in fashion & fabrics, he recognized that the innovative textiles from recycled plastics made by Waste2Wear are a perfect fit into the complete offer of Yaser & Mayasa. For Waste2Wear this collaboration is a perfect match to enable them to serve the fashion sector, finest tailors, and bespoke designers of the Middle East with a future proof collection of sustainable fabrics.

Well-established family business of fashion & textiles

The story of the Yaser & Mayassa fabric business is impressive and one that really spans generations. It all began with the great grandfather of the family, in Baghdad, Iraq, in the year 1920. Since then the business expanded over Russia, the Middle East, Canada, and the USA and is mainly focused on the wholesale sector with a great variety of fashion fabrics and a service-driven stock service.

Introduction at the College of Fashion & Design in Dubai

The collaboration between the two textile companies was celebrated last week with an introduction of Waste2Wear at the CFD; the College of Fashion & Design in Dubai, by our CEO, Monique Maissan, with the title, “Journey from Plastic Waste to Fashion.”

Thank you

At this point we’d like to thank Mr. Yasser Albeer and its complete team for the warm welcome! We are looking forward to a fruitful and creative cooperation.
